For fans of the Herzog style of documentary, this takes that ‘alien observer’ approach and pares it down even more, dropping musical cues, and truly immersing the viewer into a mode of quiet self-reflection. For me, this was a look at our planet and the human condition that trumped all 600-minutes of the BBC’s Planet Earth.
